The Kiehl’s Badwater Ultramarathon will take place on July 23-25 2007. This foot race covers 135 miles non-stop from the lowest point in the United States (Badwater Basin) in Death Valley, California, to the Whitney Portals at the base of Mt. Whitney, California. This event, run in temperatures up to 130F (55C), is billed as the most demanding and extreme running race offered anywhere on the planet. Each year only 90 athletes from around the world are accepted into this race. They are accepted after having their application reviewed and ranked by a five-member race committee panel.
